About
Being born into an artistic family, creativity was always a part of me.
My professional journey began with song and dance, more specifically, ballet. As a child, I played various roles in San Francisco Ballet productions of The Nutcracker. At the age of 16, I accepted a full scholarship as an apprentice with New York’s Joffrey Ballet and finished highschool at Professional Children’s School. During that time, I was guided by extraordinary company teachers including Robert Joffrey and Hector Zaraspe.
I was one of the few dancers invited to participate in the New York City Opera season choreographed by Robert Joffrey and Jack Cole, expanding my talents to include singing. This ultimately led me back to my hometown to earn my degree in singing from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, leading me to work with various prestigious companies, including The Santa Fe Opera, The San Francisco Opera, and the LA Civic Light Opera as well as touring as a soloist with The Sammy Cahn Show.
I continued to expand my artistic horizons with a degree in acting from the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and upon returning to New York, I continued studying my craft under Susan Batson, Alice Spivak and Julie Bovasso
Later, my path shifted again: and I incorporated the art of jazz dance with renowned dancer and choreographer LUIGI, whose work I went on to teach and still integrate into my methods today.
The next chapter of my professional journey was marked by more than a decade at Columbia Artist’s Management, where I began as an assistant to a prominent manager, later becoming a Vice-President and then running my own Opera Division. There I became known for taking singers who were young and inexperienced and helping them find their potential and then guiding them into international careers – a skill that continues to be part of what I do. During that time I also had significant collaborations with Renata Scotto, Marilyn Horne and Teresa Stratas.
After leaving Columbia Artist’s Management I became the first Director of the Domingo/Thornton Young Artists Program with the Los Angeles Opera, where I continued to discover and guide young artists. I am using my movement skillset as a certified trainer for Fall Stop/Move Strong, a fall prevention/balance program for seniors.
This latest chapter is what I have chosen to call Dynamic Creativity.
